Promises to Keep
I tended the garden and got rid of all of the dead plants. I am cutting back on the number of plants in the garden. We don’t need more than one of each tree or vegetable. I did keep two blueberry, strawberry, and watermelon plants though. I haven’t made any nectar this week. I should decide which to make.
Rhapsody continues to practice her magic. She feels confident enough to perform for tips at the park.
Pete Riggs was the first and only Sim to tip her. She received §20. Then it started to rain heavily, so she packed up her soggy cards and went home.
It was such a dreary day that I decided to make mac and cheese.
Gavin: Lucas, you’re such a pig. Slow down and enjoy your food for once!
Lucas: I’m hungry.
Rachel: That’s no excuse to eat like a slob.
Lucas: Whatever.
Lucas: Jonboy, why are you throwing food on the floor?
Jonboy [shrugging]: Misty was hungry.
I finished eating and cleared the table to prove to them that I am not a slob.
I made three types of nectar today, one each from Avornalino, Cherimola Blan, and Cranerlet Nuala grapes. The best of the lot, at outstanding quality, was the Fields of Gold Cranerlet Nuala Nectar II at §123.
After placing the best on the nectar rack, I found Gavin outside. He had just placed clothes on the line.
Lucas: Autumn and I found the perfect venue for our wedding. Promises to Keep was built recently next to the the TexanSky Lodge on Crimson Lane toward Sunrise Beach. The architect is WrathofCath. We were very impressed with the design and layout.
Gavin: Have you set a date yet?
Lucas: We have two dates in mind, but haven’t decided.
Gavin: You should decided soon. I’ve read that those venues book up quickly.
Lucas: I’ll discuss it with Autumn when she comes over.
Later in the living room…
Lucas: Hey, Jonboy, I wanted to ask you something.
Jonboy: What’s up?
Lucas: Autumn and I will be getting married soon, and we would like you to make the cake.
Jonboy: I’d be happy to. You guys are the cutest couple.
Lucas: Thanks. I appreciate it.
I thought Dad had paid the bills, and he thought I had taken care of them. They didn’t get paid, and the repo-woman came by and took our Scraptronic Workbench. It cost §1,250 to replace it. Since no one was using it, I debated replacing it at all, but I didn’t like the empty space it left in the barn loft.
Shaun:
I was promoted to Neurosurgeon today. My boss, Clyde Denmark, and co-workers Josiah Hanover, Alan Stewart, and Lydell Hanover took me out to the Bistro to celebrate. I had a great time.
When I arrived home, I found Lucas upstairs training Gavin on the treadmill.
Lucas: You’re home late today.
Shaun: I received a promotion to Neurosurgeon. Clyde Denmark took my co-workers and I to the Bistro for dinner.
Lucas: Congratulations, Dad! You deserved it.
Gavin stepped off the treadmill and came over to give me a hug.
Gavin: That’s awesome news! It won’t be long and you’ll be running the place.
Shaun: I don’t know about that. I like being a surgeon, but I don’t want to be responsible for all of the paperwork involved in keeping the hospital out of the red.
While Gavin showered, the rest of the household played video games. Rachel played SimCity on the laptop, I played Simsville on my tablet, and Lucas and Jonboy were playing GTA together on the console.
Autumn came over, and we flirted for a while.
I asked her to move in, and she said yes!
Lucas, Autumn, and Jonboy have all become adults.
