Déjà Vu
Week 5: Wednesday
Christian: I located someone to build a barn for §2000. A farmer is willing to sell us a three young milk cows for §300. Should I call and give the go-ahead?
Loni: I think those are very reasonable prices. Let’s call and get the barn built. Then we can have the cows delivered.
Christian: Okay, I’ll call right after we eat.
Loni: We should probably take care of the chickens and the bees before we eat since we got up later than usual.
Christian: I’ll take care of the bees.
Loni: All right.
I collected five eggs. They ranged from nice to excellent quality.
When I finished with the chickens, I watered, harvested, and fertilized the outside garden.
Then I filled the pets’ bowl and went downstairs to tend the plants there.
Christian:
Booker Singleton called to chat. Things were going well for him. He had recently been elected as our local representative. He was currently single, having broken it off with Benni Hennessey. He and Vera Blackburn had a short fling but it didn’t go anywhere. He told me she recently passed away and left him a small inheritance. Vera had no family.
He’d been training Glint 3.0 in jumping.
I congratulated him on his political victory, offered my condolences for his loss, and wished him luck in his horse training endeavor.
When I got off the phone, I finished my work with the bees. I still needed to clean the second box and feed them. Charlotte doesn’t bother the chickens, but she is fascinated with watching me tend the bees.
Charlotte dug a hole in our yard, but she didn’t find anything. I filled it back in packing the dirt down with my shoe.
Afterward, I dried and brushed Charlotte. Loni came into the kitchen just as I finished. She must have finished with the garden.
Loni: I’m going to take a bubble bath.
Christian: I’m headed up to change out of these wet clothes. I think there are some leftovers in the fridge we could eat for lunch.
Loni: Sounds good.
Loni:
While taking my bath, Angel presented me with a squirrel and a water beetle. I sold them. Then she brought me a bluebird that I was able to sell to the neighbor for his daughter.
It was almost 17:00 when we finally sat down to eat our organic waffles.
Christian:
When I finished, I called to arrange to have the barn built.
We sat before the crackling fire and read skill books. I was learning to cook, and Loni was studying logic.
Afterward, we headed for bed.
~texansky~ While they slept, Angel stalked a spotted turtle, but she only managed to dig a leaf out of the snow.
Christian:
A bright flash of light through my window awoke me. I saw something strange in the sky. I went to investigate. There were colorful lights just above the front porch, and then a craft was flying above me that seemingly came out of nowhere. I was lifted upward and I blacked out.
Sometime later, I was standing on the side of the road and an alien was running by. I asked her name and she replied with “Exe Xi’Cokemeq”, before beaming aboard the craft I saw earlier which was now hovering above the road. It shot up into the night sky and disappeared in a flash.
I entered the house and grabbed some cold waffles from the fridge. I didn’t bother heating them up. I still needed to hit the restroom and shower before going to bed. It was already two in the morning.
Final balance: §9,992
Difference: §2,959 decrease

When I logged in to the most recent save, the sub-basement was gone. I suspected a game crash while I was adding the sub-basement. After playing the save through to Saturday at two in the morning creating the events above, I discovered that the game save I loaded [my most recent one] had been on Week 4: Wednesday, a full week earlier than the post prior to this one.
I recreated the sub-basement as best I could to match the pictures in the Marsden 16 post. It took a bit of effort, as I could not lengthen the back wall because it was at the edge of the property. So I had to lengthen the room one square in the other direction and move everything to fit the second swift-gro gardening station in. I also moved the 4×4 soil rugs to the center, reorganized the plants on the 4×4 rugs, and deleted the 2×4 rugs. I left a walkway down each side.
I removed the floor above the gardening stations and put the brick wall pattern on the story above the gardening stations as well. I widened the original basement entry and moved the ladder one square further away from the house to install a ladder to the sub-basement that would align with the wall in the sub-basement.
At this point, I will need to play the game again through to Week 5: Wednesday to get back on track with this story. I will only document any special or unusual events in this playthrough and insert them into Thursday, Friday, and Saturday’s posts once I am caught up.
I will be leaving the Wednesday above as played this time through, and just play until Week 5: Wednesday. At that time, I will reset the final balance to §9,992. Their income from the produce was a very sizeable amount, so I divided the amount received by 7 and subtracted the difference so they would only get income from a single day’s crops
Since I hadn’t played this save in a while and didn’t really pay attention to what was received and spent this chapter, I will stop logging every transaction in each post, and just report the balance and the difference at the end of each day from now on. I will continue reporting the information on the loan until it is paid off.
