First Day of School

Chapter 32 of the Nothing is Free Challenge

Lucy just discovered she is pregnant. She looks pleased.

Lucy: Sheldon, I have something important to tell you.

Sheldon: What is it, sweetheart?

Lucy: We’re going to have another baby!

Sheldon: Really?

Lucy nodding: Truly.

Sheldon: That’s wonderful news! I hope we have a girl.

Lucy: I hope so. A girl would complete our family.

Michelle was asked to donate her heart to the hospital so they could run experiments on a human heart. She received a TAHU (Totally Artificial Heart Unit) as a replacement. I wonder if she will live longer with an artificial heart?

It’s Eric McKnight-Petersen’s birthday.

Eric is now a child. He will be attending the Alryne Schoolhouse starting tomorrow.

I heard strange music and found that Eric had been holding court at the dining room table.

Then Eric went downstairs where Lucy told him a ghost story.

Lucy: The Headless Rider continues to roam the roads on dark nights to this very day!

Eric was terrified. Time for bed. I hope he doesn’t have nightmares.

Eric dreamed of going to school the next day.

Tristan got up early to fish at Aedan Springs before school.

Samuel must have been working the night shift. He’s just getting home from work.

Eric is pretty nervous about going to school.

Danelle: I’m Danelle Holley. I will be your bus driver. Is this your first day of school?

Eric: Yes. I’m just starting today. Will I like it?

Danelle: Most kids do. Don’t worry, you’ll make friends in no time.

Eric: I’d enjoy that. It’s just me and my little cousin, Luke at home. He learned how to walk the other day and all he does is look at picture books and play with his weird little doll.

Eric: This school is huge!

Tristan: You’ll get used to it, squirt.

Rose: Tristan, no name-calling.

Tristan: He’s my cousin. I’m just being friendly.

Eric: I hope there are kids my age here.

Rose: There are.

Rose: Tristan’s sister, Anne, is just a few years older than you. My brother Tracy is two years older than Anne. His birthday is tomorrow.
