August Takes Charge
Dad broke down and cried out to The Maker when Mom left. I don’t feel one bit sorry for him. I have lost all respect for him.

September arrived at her new home, Still Water Run, 1938 Beach Boulevard.
She played a mindless online social game to occupy her thoughts.
September’s new home:

Main floor showing grounds and Casey’s car in the garage

August:
Uncle Evan ran into Wanda Perkins at the park. She is married to Bucky Perkins, his imaginary friend made real. They shared a friendly hug.
Evan participated in a hot dog eating contest with Marta Fox, Wanda Perkins, and Sha Sha Blanco.
Sha Sha won first place and Wanda came in second. Evan didn’t finish before the bell rang.
The next thing he knows, Calista Martingale from high school, was accusing him of something he hadn’t done. He had no idea what she was talking about, but she was furious with him.
Despite the drama in our household, the show must go on. Phoenix the Magnificent had a gig at Chela’s Place, the new live venue in town.
Front row: Deanne Beavers, Proprietor, Mick Henning, Proprietor, Kylee Riffin, Ted Singleton
Back row: Joaquin Riffin, Nakisha Fox, Theodore Singleton
On the right you can see Leroy Fox tearing up the bench. Bad dog!
~texansky~ I don’t know what happened. Phoenix was reset half an hour before his show was to end. He returned home with only his box of mystery and box of danger. The rest of his stage props were still on the stage at Chela’s Place. I bought all of the props and lighting equipment again and placed it back in the family inventory.
Uncle Parker and Tisha Singleton are expecting a baby.
Mom adopted a kitten. She named her Minnie.
This morning, as I was headed for the bus, I saw Aunt MaryJo yelling at Dad.
MaryJo: … moved out of the house!
Casey: MaryJo, you look upset. Is there anything I can do?
MaryJo: Are you kidding me? Haven’t you done enough already? My sister hates me!
The military tried to recruit Uncle Evan. He turned them down flat. He loves his job in the science career.
MaryJo: Casey, I have something to tell you.
Casey: What is it?
MaryJo: There’s a reason why I’ve been so emotional lately.
Casey: Oh? Why?
MaryJo: I’m pregnant.
Casey: What! Are you sure?
Mary Jo: I went to the doctor this afternoon and she confirmed it.
Casey: We’re going to have a baby?
MaryJo: Yes. What happens now?
Casey: You’ll have the baby here and we’ll raise it together.
MaryJo: We should probably tell September. It wouldn’t be right for her to find out from someone else.
Casey: I think we should invite her over tomorrow.
MaryJo: I agree. We should let her know right away.
~texansky~ This will be the final chapter as I am retiring my Marsden Farm story. The original challenge of building a profitable farm from nothing has been accomplished. The story no longer has a clear direction, and I can’t envision August turning this into a legacy.
Casey and MaryJo made things more complicated. I got frustrated because the two of them took the story in a direction that I didn’t want it to go.
I’m sorry to leave this story with a cliffhanger; however, playing this game out is futile without a clear way forward that makes sense to me.
I think the only reason I kept it going this long was because I wanted Phoenix to fulfill his lifetime wish and become a Master Magician.
