First Day of Elementary School
Lucas:
We had remodeled the upstairs. Gavin and Arlinda had needed their own room with a double bed. Our room is smaller, and the room that Jonboy and Rachel share is even smaller. In anticipation of Aidan becoming a child, we had installed a second bunk bed in the small room.
It seemed too claustrophobic, so we removed one crib from the nursery and relocated the bunk bed there instead. I’ve been thinking that we may need to build a new home soon.
We removed the horse stall from the barn, and Autumn had the plants she needed for alchemy in pots there.
Jeppayee Pa’Lhaxalic, Aurion’s mother, visited us. Gavin went to talk with her about their son, Aurion.
I have been thinking that Jonboy and Rachel should move out on their own soon, but I enjoy having them around.
Rachel mastered the painting skill.
Jonboy has been promoted. He is now a celebrated five-star chef.
Jonboy was awarded the MinusOne Kelvin Refrigerator from the Coffeehouse upon his promotion. It was delivered today. The manual states that it will keep food fresher much longer than other refrigerators.
Aurion celebrated his birthday today. Monday will be the first day of school for both Aidan and Aurion.
Jonboy found an Evil Mr. Gnome in the mail this evening. He is beyond creepy. I wonder who sent him.
Rachel has been promoted to Purveyor of Danger, level 7 in the magician career.
Aidan and Aurion are on their way to their first day of elementary school. Aidan looks like he is already bored. Aurion at least appears to be looking forward to school. I hope they can make some friends.
Jonboy read Gavin’s novel, Dreaming of You, to Aurion as a bedtime story.
After tucking Aurion into bed, Jonboy repaired the shower. He mastered handiness.
Autumn sought me out upstairs, and we flirted with one another.
Autumn: Hey, handsome!
Lucas: Hey, yourself, beautiful!
Autumn: Do you know I love you as much today as when we got married?
Lucas: I love you, too. Let’s go to bed.
I kissed her breathless.
Aidan had mac and cheese for a midnight snack and went straight to bed. At least he put his dishes in the dishwasher.
~texansky~ While Arlinda was doing a job at the science facility, Soldier Horse and a wild horse hung out at the entrance. They were gone by the time she came out.
Arlinda arrived home after a successful heist and flirted with Gavin.
Arlinda: Good morning, darling.
Gavin: Good morning, my love.
Gavin kissed her on the cheek.
Gavin: I woke up and you weren’t in bed beside me. What have you been up to?
Arlinda: I suppose it’s time I told you what I do for a living.
Gavin: What is that?
Arlinda: I work for the Outstanding Citizen Warehouse Corp. I’m a criminal.
Gavin: Isn’t that dangerous? What if you get arrested by the police?
Arlinda: I haven’t yet. Let’s have some breakfast.
Jonboy ate a slice of wedding cake for breakfast.
Jonboy: Rachel and I have been thinking that it’s time we moved out on our own. We have been looking around, and we found a nice place on Ivory Lane in the Old Neighborhood.
Gavin: Why now?
Jonboy: The house is crowded already, and if you and Arlinda are planning on having kids, there’s really no room for them.
Arlinda: You have a point. We planned to have a couple of children before we were old and gray.
Gavin: We will miss having the two of you around. You’ve both been friend with Lucas and I since we were toddlers.
Rachel: You can always visit. We’re not leaving Alryne Valley.
Arlinda: This is true.
Jonboy: I’m going to go pack my things.
Rachel: I’ll go with you. I have some things I want to bring with as well.
I was meditating on the porch and heard the entire conversation through the screen door. I will miss Jonboy. He’s been such a good friend. I wondered if he would take his refrigerator and food processor to his new home. I would have to ask him later.
