Dawson, the Peeping Tomcat!
Cheri enjoyed the bottle I gave her.
Michell finished her first painting. She used a lot of dark colors.
Dawson was a peeping tomcat. You’d think we never let him in the house.
We decided to remodel the nursery. I never liked the green walls.
I finished painting Island Paradise. I hung it above our bed to lighten it up. I found our room rather dark, but Michell liked the colors.
We ate autumn salad for dinner.
Martin Flannagan called to chat with Michell about their daughter, Cheri. She put him on speaker phone.
Michell: Hello?
Martin: Hi, Michell. It’s Martin.
Michell: Martin, why are you calling me?
Martin: I wanted to find out how our daughter is doing.
Michell: So, now that Brody and I are married, you’ve decided that Cheri is your daughter?
Martin: I want to apologize for the way I reacted when you told me you were pregnant. I was an ass. I knew she was my child. Telling you that I didn’t think she was my baby was very disrespectful toward you.
Michell: You think?
Martin: I’m sorry. I have no excuse for my behavior. Please forgive me.
Michell got very quiet. I could tell she was weighing the apology to determine if it was genuine.
Michell: What you did really hurt me. I forgive you, but I won’t forget what happened.
Martin: I don’t blame you for that. How is Cheri doing?
Michell: Cheri has learned to play the xylophone and just mastered the peg box toy. She’s been looking at some picture books. She finally learned how to use the potty chair.
Martin: That’s awesome! She’s a smart kid.
Michell: Yes, she is. Look, Martin, I have to go.
Martin: Okay. I’ll talk with you later. Is it okay if I come over to visit Cheri once in a while?
Michell: You’re her father. I won’t turn you away.
Michell hung up the phone.
Michell: I need to go fix the plumbing at the bistro. I’ll be back in a little while.
Brody: All right. I’ll put Cheri to bed. See you when you get home.
Michell: Love you, Brody.
Brody: Love you, too.
I kissed her before she left and went to the nursery. Cheri was fussing on the floor. She was ready to go to sleep. I put her in the crib and kissed her forehead.
I went to the basement to run on the treadmill. My phone rang.
Wiping the sweat from my brow, I answered it. Persephone Peterson wanted to go on a date with me! I told her I wouldn’t do that under any circumstances, and hung up the phone.
I took a shower and read Passion Peak by Aunt Ava until Michell got home.
Michell: What a mess! Someone ran potato peelings down the garbage disposal. I’m sorry it took so long. How was Cheri while I was gone?
Brody: She was fussing right after you left, so I put her to bed. She’s been sleeping ever since.
Michell: Let’s head for bed. It’s late.
Michell kissed me soundly before taking my hand.
The next morning, I mastered gardening while tending the plants in the basement.
When I came upstairs, Michell was teaching Cheri to talk. She’s growing so fast!
I recycled some bad food from the fridge, and Dawson came out to the garden to be with me. I love him so much I didn’t even mind his snowy footprints on my jacket.
Aunt Amanda married Winston Archer. They moved into 204 Crimson Lane E after the wedding with his little dog Scout.
Michell told me that she received a call from my half-brother Carson Phelps inviting her out on a date. She told him off. I wanted to beat his arse.
She looked into my eyes and told me there was no one else but me in her life.
My mother, Angelia Forsythe, came to sit with Cheri while she read a book.
I put Cheri in her crib and Michell and I went to bed.
In other news:
Brylee Berg had been dating our cousin Brianna’s husband, Jaron Strong.
Patrick and Persephone Peterson were expecting a baby.
