Renovations

Not wanting to be away from Shaun for too long, I asked him to dinner at the bistro Saturday night. I wore my sparkly green dress with emerald studs and a diamond and emerald necklace. Shaun wore a black suit, white shirt and a black bowtie around his neck. He was so handsome!

We had a wonderful time. The food was superb as always, and the atmosphere set a very romantic tone. I really liked Shaun and wanted him in my life.

We went back to my place. I stopped him in the kitchen to give him an amorous hug.

I had planned to do this at the bistro but it was too crowded. I got down on one knee and opened the ring box from my clutch purse.

Shaun: Jade, what are you doing?
Jade: Shaun, we have been best friends for a long time, but there is something more between us. I have grown to love you, and I hope you feel the same. Would you marry me?
Shaun: I love you, too! I would like nothing more than to be married to you.

Shaun: Jade, since we have no family and no reason to wait, would you marry me now?
Jade: Absolutely!

Shaun: Jade Fields, you have become the love of my life, my whole world. This ring represents the whole of my love for you. Never-ending and unbroken. Will you be my wife, now and forever?
Jade: I will.
Shaun slides the ring onto my finger.

Jade: Shaun Berger, I love you with my whole heart. You complete me in ways I never dreamed possible. This ring is a symbol of the love I have for you. Will you accept it and be my husband, now and forever?
Shaun: I will.
I slide the ring onto his finger.

Shaun: I promise to be there for you as long as we both shall live.
Jade: Shaun, I promise to be by your side, supporting you, as long as we both shall live.

Monday afternoon, the contractors replaced the wallpaper in the living room. I bought new chairs and a bookcase and had the rug professionally cleaned. The difference was striking. I was happy with the results.

After taking this picture, I replaced Elijah’s scratching post.

The contractors moved into the kitchen to replace the wallpaper. I had a new refrigerator and a canning station delivered.

That night, after weeding the plants, I fertilized them to prevent the weeds from coming back. After starting a batch of Fields of Gold Nectar, I headed for bed. Shaun was already sleeping.

Our alarms went off bright and early. I hopped on the tractor to tend the garden while Shaun took care of the bee hives.

After our chores, I found Shaun near the chickens. He took my hands and told me how happy he was to be here with me. I was so touched.

I went to the barn to work on the old beater, but was interrupted by Shaun. We were feeling a bit frisky, so we took a break.

I put away the nectar from last night and started another batch. Unfortunately, when I tried to start the nectar making process, the machine broke down, spewing nectar all over the floor. In my attempt to fix it, I must have crossed some wires. I was nearly electrocuted and lucky I was still alive.
