An Incomplete Family Gathering
Jamal Douglas moved in today.
Not an hour later, Carson and Bonnie Phelps rushed off to the hospital. Bonnie returned holding their son. They named him Cody.
Cody Phelps is a Scorpio who is brave and athletic. He likes Kids music, key lime pie, and the color purple.
Carson is a proud papa. He changed Cody’s first dirty diaper, fed him, and snuggled and played with him, before settling him back in the crib.
While we were fussing over the baby, Brooklynn and Jamal disappeared. An hour later, they came home dressed in their finery. I noticed that Brooklynn was wearing Mom’s wedding dress and gloves, and had Grandma’s necklace on.
I swear, everyone in this family runs off to the courthouse to get married! I made them sit down in the heirloom couch for some proper photos. We had it reupholstered this year. These two are my favorites. I like the second one the best.
There were some others that didn’t turn out quite as well.
Aunt Amanda threw a dinner party for the extended family. The guests included Jaron, Brianna, and Ernie Strong, Daron Forsythe, and Michell Arellano. Brylee Berg came only to tell us that her father, Glen, had died at the age of 100. I extended our condolences and she went home to be with her mother. I wish we hadn’t passed on lunch with them yesterday.

Ernie is eyeing the plate of sushi. He looks hungry.
Ernie sat on the couch next to a sleeping Dawson to eat his sushi.
Daron is much more pleasant than he was at Rob’s funeral.
Amanda danced with Jaron.
They were really getting into it.
Brianna and Carson were dancing.
Daron is now an adult.
Bonnie became an elder. Cody will be an only child.
I caught Carson complimenting Amanda. It looked like they were flirting. Brooklynn got upset with Carson.
