Baked Angel Food Cake
When Dawson arrived, I spent some time getting to know him. I brushed him until his coat gleamed. He seemed to like the attention.
Brooklynn delivered a singing telegram to our cousin Daron for completing a great workout. Can you imagine needing to celebrate something like that?
Aunt Amanda decided politics wasn’t for her and retired.
I had heard that Michell Arellano and Daron had broken up, so I invited her over this evening. We seemed to be getting along nicely. I tried flirting with her, and she was into it.
After flirting for a little bit, I tried to kiss her.
Michell was very upset and yelled at me. I immediately apologized and backed off for a while.
I asked her to watch the stars with me, and pointed out the constellation for her birth sign.
Michell and I talked while watching the stars.
Michell: I’m sorry I got upset with you earlier. I’ve been dating your cousin Daron, and it hasn’t been going well.
Brody: I thought the two of you had split up.
Michell: No, but I don’t think we are right for one another.
Brody: If it’s not serious between the two of you, why don’t you break up with him?
Michell: You know, maybe I should.
Michell took out her phone and called Daron right there under the night sky.
Michell: Daron, I want to talk to you.
I waited for her to continue.
Michell: Yes, it’s important… no, don’t hang up…
There was another longer pause.
Michell: I’m not happy with our relationship… no, there’s nothing more to say. I am breaking up with you.
I could hear Daron’s voice through the phone but couldn’t make out the words.
Michell: I’m sorry, but I’ve made up my mind.
Michell disconnected the call and looked at me.
I couldn’t help but be pleased with the news. I did my best to cheer her up. In the end, I managed to get her to smile by telling her a corny joke. She is such a beautiful girl, and I want to be the one to make her happy.
I kissed her goodnight, and she kissed me back before she went home.
Brooklynn had gone to the bistro with Jamal Douglas. I was wondering how her date had gone when she pulled into the driveway.
Brody: Hey, sis! How did your evening go?
Brooklynn (smiling widely): It was wonderful. The food was delicious.
Brody: It sounds like you had a good time.
Brooklynn: Fabulous! I asked Jamal to marry me!
Brody: You what?
Brooklynn: You heard me. I asked him to marry me and he said yes!
Brody: Wow! Congratulations!
Brooklynn: I love him so much, Brody. We were meant to be together.
Brooklynn: I saw Michell leaving as I turned down our street. How was your evening.
Brody: Not as exciting as yours. We watched the stars together and talked. While she was here she broke up with Daron on the phone. We shared our first kiss right before she left.
Brooklynn: Awesome! I’m going to change. The busboy spilled some dessert on me, so they sent a baked angel food cake home with me. I need to put it away, get changed, and throw this dress in the wash.
Brody: Well, then. Goodnight. I’m off to bed.
I had lunch with Aunt Amanda.
Amanda: I visited Aunt Amber this morning. We had a nice visit. I got a hug from Brylee when I was headed out the door. Amber’s not doing so well. I’m worried about her.
Brody: I hope it’s nothing serious.
Amanda: It’s just old age. We’re both 96 and living on borrowed time. I don’t think she will live much longer.
Brody: Maybe I should visit her.
Amanda: Why don’t we invite her over for lunch tomorrow? Then she can visit with the whole family.
Brody: I think that would be a good idea.
I dropped by my cousin Brianna’s home this afternoon. She turned gray, but is doing well.
I can’t believe Ernie is already a child. He’s grown so fast.
Brooklynn was practicing her violin. She’s getting better every day.
That night, Carson celebrated his birthday. I swear his hair went from blonde to silver overnight.
Dawson came down to help Carson celebrate his birthday.
While puttering in the garden, Carson decided to retire. He said he was getting too old to be combing the beaches looking for Sims in distress.
