Alien Healing?

~texansky~ This is when I received my new laptop and put all the settings on Max! I  this laptop!

Week 2: Monday

I stored the best seeds in the small chest. I will take the other produce to the consignment store after school. I think I’ll go to Aleister’s Elixirs and Sundries this time. I’ve got some alchemy ingredients, and I bet they’ll sell better there. Besides, when I was at Rags to Riches, they had no produce for sale. They shorted me last time and sold my produce directly to the grocery store.

I see Dad weeded the garden. I wish he would stop trying to do so much. He’s going to make his condition worse.

Loni: Dad, thank you for finishing the garden.
Dad: You’re welcome. You’ve worked so hard to get this place cleaned up. You’ve done a great job on the garden so far. It was the least I could do to ease your burden.
Loni: Do I need to keep reminding you that the doctor wants you to take it easy?

Screenshot-60

Loni: Good morning, Dad.
Dad: Good morning. Did you sleep well?
Loni: Well enough.
Dad: I’ve got something to tell you. I don’t want you to think I’m crazy.
Loni: I won’t.
~texansky~ Fred looks around and then leans in close.

Dad: A little after midnight on Thursday morning, I saw strange lights in the sky. I went out to see what they were and saw a spaceship above our house. Loni, I think they abducted me.
The spaceship sent a beam of light down that started pulling me up. The next thing I remember, I was standing on the side of the road at 3 am.

Screenshot-28

Loni: Are you sure? You’ve been a bit absent-minded since Mom died.
Dad: I’m sure. Ever since then, I’ve been feeling like a new man. I haven’t used my cane since. I was even able to run back to the house. And I have the energy to do things around the house that used to wear me out. Loni, I think they healed my condition.

Screenshot-29

Loni: I noticed you weren’t using your cane. I never would have guessed that it was because of an alien abduction.
Dad: I can’t believe it either. But I have felt better since then.

Screenshot-63

~texansky~ Later that evening…
Loni: I’ve been thinking we should go to the doctor and have you checked out. Shall I make you an appointment?

Screenshot-64

Dad: Sure.
~texansky~ Loni called the clinic and set up an appointment.

Loni: She can see you on Thursday afternoon. We can still go fishing in the morning.
Dad: That works for me. I’ve got nothing better to do with my time.

~texansky~ I rearranged some of the story due to the changes in lighting. It should be Tuesday morning according to the lighting, but it is still Monday. Seems like she is reliving the day over with a different result. 😆

Loni: I’ve got the produce you put in the chest. I’m going to take it all to Aleister’s after school.

Screenshot-61

Loni: I’d better run. The bus is here.
Dad: Do your best.
Loni: I try to. Sometimes it’s been hard. I’ll be home later than usual. There’s a salad in the fridge.
Dad: You better hustle. You don’t want the driver to leave without you.

Screenshot-67

I waved to Dad and ran to the road. I made it just as the driver was starting to close the doors.

Screenshot-68

~texansky~ At this point, I went to target Fred and his portrait has a gray background. He’s nowhere in the house or on the property. The last time I saw him, he was stepping off the porch after Loni as she made her way to the bus. From what I read, I must have accidentally sent him on the free vacation. Obviously, I opened the previous save. Luckily I had just saved it before I ate lunch, and I hadn’t done anything significant since then. Just a few photos to go with my story, which I will keep and pretend they happened in my current game. This is why the pictures kept switching between morning and evening lighting. 😉

~texansky~ I really hate waiting for the game to reload. :grimace: Here are a few photos of the house while we wait. 😀

Nestled in the valley surrounded by foothills. Angel is trying to catch something in front of the house.

The back of the house. You can barely see Fred reading in the rocking chair on the big porch.

Screenshot-71

~texansky~ Fred autonomously waters the plants every day. I’m glad he’s feeling better. I wonder what the doctor will say on Thursday?

Angel hissed at a raccoon today.

Loni:
Things are going well. I had finished my homework at home, so I had time to meet some new people at school. I stopped by Aleister’s after school. I spent §37 on some seeds to plant in my garden and consigned our produce. For some reason, I feel like I overpaid for the seeds.

I found some beekeeping boxes out back and was able to get some honey and beeswax.

Screenshot-79

I consigned that too, then headed for home.

Loni:
I about had a heart attack! That deer came bounding through the yard and almost stomped Angel into the ground!

Screenshot-72

Fortunately, the scare didn’t cause Angel to lose the gecko she caught. I sold it for §10. Not long after that, she brought me a light beetle.

Dad and I had a salad for dinner.

Screenshot-80

Dad: I sent §115 with the bills this morning. I’m glad we always have enough to pay them when they come due.
Loni: So am I. I’m sorry I got a bit reckless with our Simoleons.
Dad: You’re just learning how to handle money. You’ll get better at it.

I couldn’t finish my salad as it had gone bad.

Screenshot-81

I recycled the bad salad from the fridge. Afterward, I hung the clothes out to dry. I don’t know how they will dry in the rain. But we can’t afford a dryer just yet. We have to save for some chickens and a couple of beekeeping boxes.

Screenshot-82

Angel brought me a stag beetle. I need to visit the science lab soon to donate these insects. They called and asked me to supply some fish, too, so I will go there after Dad’s appointment on Thursday.

I already received a payment from Aleister’s for §134! I installed some plant lights in the basement to help the plants grow better. They cost §180. I moved one of the sprinklers back outside for the trees and stored the other one in the small room in the basement, then set to work on the garden. I planted the seeds I had left and the ones I bought.

Screenshot-83

Exhausted, I fell into bed. I hadn’t even had time to do my assignment.

Final piggybank balance: §335
