Well, it took me a while. I went through ciane’s installation spreadsheet and posts (from the wayback machine) with a fine-toothed comb and created the ultimate Installation spreadsheet to install all of my store contact from scratch with no duplicates.
I even loaded the Ode to MrHawk and Bily lot created by ciane and saved every stencil on the lot to the userPresets package file. I did forget to make a backup of the installation before installing user-created worlds, patterns, lots, buy objects, and clothing items (40 files total).
I verified that my Mods folder matched the Mods folder in the previous The Sims 3 game folder.
And the moment of truth…
The game still says there is missing content. 😦
So the only thing I have left to do is go through the DCBackup and Library package files of the previous game folder and see what other CC items were installed there, so I can make a list.
I know there are some Sims and worlds installed in the previous folder that I haven’t installed in the new game folder. I don’t think any of them will make a difference, but I will install all of the CC item one at a time and keep testing the save file to see if any of them make a difference.
Precious Joy’s save game is playable now, but I am like a dog with a bone. I just don’t want to give up on this.
I hope this post finds all of you well. If I still have the problem after installing everything that was in the previous game folder. I will throw in the towel and play the game without the mysterious missing content.
