I have never taken a Sim Scuba Diving before, or created a dive lot, so this was all new to me. I wanted to see if it was possible to add a dive lot to Alryne Valley. I loaded the save file available for download on Mediafire, Alryne_Valley_Populated.sims3.
I placed Mermaid’s Park dive lot created by Dandelion Sprout at Mod the Sims in this save of Alryne Valley. This is a small dive lot with no sharks.
I followed the instructions provided on the Description tab to place the lot in the middle of Maramore Ocean as far east of Sunrise Beach as I could place a 20×20 lot. When I added the 20×20 empty lot to the game, I did not rotate it at all. I had trouble with the standard version as the plants were sticking out of the water and the buoy was floating above the surface.
When I placed the crater version, the plants were all under water but the buoy was still floating. I lowered the terrain directly below the buoy as instructed in step 7, picked up the buoy, and placed it right back down in the same spot (best done looking directly down at the buoy from the top). I saved the game, returned to the main menu to keep cheats active, and reloaded the game.
Marcus Cronin, who loves to swim, went to the Science Center to learn the Diving skill. I then selected the option for Scuba Dive, rather than Visit Dive Spot. He took a boat directly to the diving spot, popped into the water, changed into diving gear, dove successfully, swam around down there, entered the cave without resetting to shore, returned to the surface, and swam around out there. I was able to select Visit Sunrise Beach and he returned to land via boat without incident. While diving, he found a Cowry Shell.
Marcus went snorkeling in Lake Atherton to get to his Scuba Diving skill to level 4 so he could open the chest on the dive lot. While snorkeling in Lake Atherton, he found a Nautilus Shell. I did not place any Seashell Spawners in Alryne Valley. I thought you had to place a spawner to spawn shells. Apparently not. Maybe you need the Seashell Spawner to spawn bottles.
On his second dive, Marcus caught an Octopus, a Sea Urchin, and an Eel. He opened the chest and found 5,000 Simoleons, a Large Crystal Ball Cut Rainbow Gem, a Large Plutonium Ingot, a Mr. Mariner Gnome, and several gems.
I appreciate the work that Dandelion Sprout did on this lot. It was a good lot for me to get my feet wet in working with diving lots.
