Humble Beginnings

I have created a world called Alryne Valley for The Sims 3. The town faces Sunrise Beach and Maramore Ocean to the east and is surrounded on three sides by snow-covered mountains. All commercial buildings and venues are located on individual lots (no combination rabbit holes). I originally created this world so that it could be used for the Nothing is Free Challenge from ModtheSims by Avalikia.

It can also be used in The Sims 3 Rebuild the World Challenge (V2.0) by angelbearpuppy, or the original The Sims 3 Rebuild the World challenge (v1.0) by X8_Bliss.

NOTE: The post links for these challenges are no longer available. I had the rules for V2.0 on my computer, and found V2.0 on the Wayback machine, so I recompiled the challenge to the best of my ability. Credit still goes to X8_Bliss who created the challenge and angelbearpuppy who revised the challenge. Rebuild the World [2013] is available on my blog The Legacy Report – Sims 3.

The latest and final versions of Alryne Valley:
Alryne Valley Homes which contains 34 homes and 3 apartments from the library bin and has no population.
Alryne Valley Sims has the Sim population added to the world. I did not include the families above in the world, but created new families to balance the population and fill the occupations.

History of Alryne Valley and Wimborne County:

NOTE: The Sims below are not in the Alryne Valley Sims world above. I may provide a world with this population in the future that follows this history.

Tired of the filth and crime of the big city, Aedan and Rowina Alryne and Garnet and Millie Wimborne left in search of a better life. After weeks of travel, they discovered a lush valley. Garnet Wimborne purchased the valley from cattle rancher Gavin Graham and his wife Ginna. and donated a segment of the land to develop the town of Alryne Valley. It was decided that Aedan Alryne would become the first mayor of the town. Wimborne County includes the town of Alryne Valley and the remaining acreage.

The two couples wrote letters home, describing the valley and inviting others to join them there. Seven couples took them up on their offer and packed their belongings.

Millie Wimborne’s brother Carson Jacobs brought food and general goods and established Jacobs Mercantile. His wife Karina offered facials and massages to the ladies of the area from her home before opening Karina’s Facials and Massage. (Millie and Carson’s parents are Richard and Sarah Jacobs. They live with Carson and Karina.)

Aedan’s sister Margie Dunwich runs Margie’s Salon and her husband Mack brought supplies to open the Good Eats Diner. (Aedan and Margie’s parents are Connor and Alanna Alryne. They live with Mack and Margie.)

Ole and Lena Nelson founded Nelson’s Cafe, the finest dining establishment in town.

Evyn and Holly Wood own and operate Holly’s Community Theatre. Holly also became the first teacher at the Alryne Schoolhouse.

Ethan and Bronwyne Wright brought books and opened Bronwyne Books. They built Wright Reading Room and donated books to fill the library.

Gavin and Ginna Graham loved their valley and decided to remain. Gavin used some of the proceeds from the sale of his vast ranch to buy a pair of promising racehorses, and will breed them on the Triple G Ranch located across the street from Graham’s Pet Shoppe. Ginna runs the shop and organizes races and other events at Wimborne Equestrian Centre.

Alryne Valley started with twenty adventurous Sims, but soon the seven younger couples were bringing babies into the world. Word spread about the opportunities in Wimborne County and it wasn’t long before others were moving into Alryne Valley with their families.

Map images of Wimborne County and Alryne Valley:

The northwest section of the map: Farmers Close with three 64×64 lots and an abandoned farmhouse is located at the top of the map. Llama Memorial Stadium is at the bottom. The road to the northwest leads out of the valley.

The west section of the map: This image contains Alryne Valley proper. Lake Atherton is to the left with a lakeside cabin. This is the only residential property in Alryne Valley – Alpha.

The southwest portion of the map: Sugarplum Circle, the affluent neighborhood, is located in the bottom left. It contains four 64×64 lots in the center and is surrounded by twelve 40×40 lots around the outside. You can see three single-wide mobile homes in Alryne Court to the right which I added to test the world.

I plan to add a zip file to Mediafire with these three homes, three double-wide homes, and other residential properties which I will be building.

Northeast area of the map: Smuggler’s Cove criminal hideout at the top of the map and the lighthouse to the east.

The east side of the map: Sunrise Beach is located on the Maramore Ocean to the east. Crimson Lane comes from the west to the ocean and Ocean View Road goes south from there.

And finally, the southeast area of the map: Aviator Way coming from the west leads to the Alryne Airfield Terminal, Wimborne Militia, Wimborne County Junkyard, Wimborne Empirical Centre (science building), and Aedan Springs. There is an abandoned mine in the southeast as well.

Commercial lots:

41 commercial lots have been placed and there are six more empty community lots of different sizes available (20×30, 30×20, 30×40, 40×40, 50×50, and 60×60). Most of the rabbit hole lots come from either Sunset Valley or Riverview. I believe the rest are from the expansions.

Residential lots:

Counting the lakeside cabin, there are 64 residential lots of varying sizes (20×30, 30×20, 30×40, 40×40, 50×50, and 60×60) with NINE 64×64 lots. Three of the largest lots are located in Farmers Close, a rural area north of town, and four more are in the affluent neighborhood on Sugarplum Circle. I figured if someone needs a 64×64 lot for a venue, two residential lots located on Crimson Lane between the nightclub district and Maramore Ocean and the one next to the equestrian center on Aviator Way could be changed for that purpose.

Most of the 20×30/30×20 residential lots are 30 deep with a 20-foot wide edge facing the street.

If you are a builder, this is the world for you as only one residential lot has been placed in the world at this time. The lakeside cabin lot costs §17,246 unfurnished and §25,571 furnished, so you may need to use the “freerealestate” cheat or strip the cabin bare to move a single Sim in. (I removed the majority of the windows and most of the furnishings in order for the furnished price to fall below §16,500). A couple could purchase the cabin unfurnished without cheats.
