Surprise, Loni!
Week 3: Friday
I saw some mysterious lights in the sky and went outside to investigate. Suddenly, I’m being pulled up into a spaceship! The next thing I know, I’m at the edge of the property. Is this what happened to Dad?
Well, that was interesting. I guess I better go feed my chickens (§5).
I didn’t go back to sleep. I tended the garden in the basement and replaced some barren plants.
I bought another Hefty Recycle Bin for outside the house for §50.
I realized that by myself, I am not going to be able to keep up with my garden, as well as the chickens and bees. I stopped by the First National Bank of Sims and was able to get a loan for §10,000 to invest in the farm.
I bought a farm tractor for §12,000 and made arrangements to have someone come by and grade a path for the tractor to drive on. The total cost for the path was §500. I also received §31 from Aleister’s. I had §5401 left in the piggy bank.
While I was harvesting honey from one box, my phone rang. I must have made an impression on him because Christian called and wanted to chat.
~texansky~ I have no idea what this thought bubble represents. Maybe she is praying for help with her garden? Or she is secretly praying for a relationship with Christian? Or both?
Angel brought me a rhinoceros beetle and an Eastern Box turtle. I sold the turtle for §26.
Angel tried to nuzzle with a horse that wandered on the property, but the horse wanted nothing to do with her.
Total in the piggy bank: §5427.
Week 3: Saturday
After feeding Angel (§8), I tried out the watering system on my new tractor. Everything worked as expected. It only took half an hour to complete the circle. This is going to make gardening go much faster!
I missed a harvest and my eggs hatched. I fed the chickens (§5), played with the chicks, harvested honey, and gathered honeycomb. I started in the basement garden but had to stop to go to graduation. I wish Dad were alive to see me graduate with honors.
And graduation is over. I wish it wasn’t wintertime. No one can see my cap and gown.
To celebrate, I decided to make a snow angel.
And a paparazzi decided to beat up Honey Darnell after Honey had played for tips in front of the school. I think one was heckling the other before the fight broke out.
When I got home from graduation, I hung a load of laundry on the clothesline.
Angel caught an Iridescent Sheildtail snake which I sold for §870 and a Womrat which netted me §12.
The clothes were dry. I took them off the line, folded them, and put them away.
I headed up to bed.
Piggybank: §6296.
Loan amount: §10,000 with §50 interest payable every Friday until the loan is paid off.
Week 4: Sunday
When I woke up, I made pancakes for breakfast.
When I was done eating, I fed the chickens (§5), collected eggs, and took care of the bees.
I spent the entire day moving my plants outside to the new garden area and planted more trees. I built a fence to keep out the critters (§998), then I watered, fertilized, and harvested them with the tractor.
When I finished, I played in the sprinkler for a while, then I had leftover pancakes for dinner. My favorite!
Loni: Hello?
Christian: Hey there. It’s Christian. How are things going?
Loni: I’ve been busy. I got my garden moved outside and installed a fence to keep the critters from devouring my plants.
Christian: It sounds like you have been working very hard.
Loni: Yeah. I’m sore. I could use a hot tub right about now.
Christian: I missed you last night.
Loni: What do you mean?
Christian: I had a party at my place. You must have forgotten because of your graduation yesterday.
Loni: Was that last night? I’m so sorry I missed it.
Christian: I’m sorry, too. I was looking forward to seeing you.
Loni: Well, how about if you come over tomorrow for dinner? Around four?
Christian: I’ll be there.
Loni: I’ve got to go. See you then.
Christian: Goodnight, Loni.
Loni: ‘Night.
I had a long soak in the bath which eased some of the soreness. Then I filled Angel’s dish for §8 and cleaned her box. It’s a nasty job, but someone has to do it.
I decided to sit in the rocking chair on the porch and listen to the rain. I can see Dad’s headstone from here. I sure do miss seeing him sit here.
When the rain started coming down harder, I headed for bed.
Piggybank total: §5285.
