Precious Joy Forsythe

A New Beginning

Good morning, readers! I have a treat for you. I started a new Legacy Challenge. However, this time, my founder was not created by me but was born in the game as the heir of the 10th generation of my Forsythe Family Legacy Challenge.

Precious Joy Forsythe, right, is the namesake of the original founder, Precious Forsythe, left. Precious Joy was born to Grady and Teri Forsythe in Glenvale County.

A little background on the Original Legacy Challenge:

I started playing the original Forsythe Family Legacy Challenge on November 21, 2015. The founder was a young lady named Precious Forsythe. She had a distinctive birthmark of stars on the back of her neck. When her son, Jeremy, was born with the same birthmark, Precious realized it might be inherited. Precious wondered how many of her ancestors would display that birthmark.

~texansky~ Fun Fact: The second generation heir, Jeremy, married Bella Goth.

During the seventh generation (7.7 – May 27, 2016), tragedy struck Sunset Valley. A tornado tore through the area, demolishing the entire valley. The family survived and managed to salvage all of the family portraits from the wreckage. Oryan Forsythe did a great job of cleaning them up, and they were packed carefully for their move to Glenvale County.

All of Precious Forsythe’s descendants and their significant others moved there together. Daniel also arranged for their family cemetery to be relocated to their new home. This occurred during my gameplay around May 27, 2016.

I stopped playing this save during the 8th generation (8.22 – October 30, 2016) and later picked it up again (8.23 – January 5, 2022).

Precious Joy Forsythe was born on October 18, 2022, concluding the challenge with a score of 89 base game points or 92 with the three Lifetime Wishes from expansions.

Because I enjoyed my first Legacy Challenge so much and grew to love the Forsythe family, I started a new challenge with Precious Joy Forsythe.

The saved game where Precious Joy Forsythe was born was corrupt. I was unsuccessful in extracting Precious Joy from that save. However, I did salvage her parents as children from an earlier save. I aged them to young adults and moved them into a new home. I changed their status to married, gave them wedding rings, and saved the couple in my library. I then placed Grady and Teri Forsythe into a fresh copy of Glenvale County and gave them an instant baby. They named her Precious Joy Forsythe, and she is the founder of the new Legacy Challenge. Comparing screenshots of Precious Joy Forsythe from Generation 10 on my Wix site with the Precious Joy Forsythe in my new challenge, they looks very similar. Obvious differences are the eyebrow shape and the fullness of face in the first picture. The eye color on the second picture is actually as light as the original Precious Joy.

Original Precious Joy Forsythe:

Precious Joy Forsythe recreated:

Precious was born a Capricorn. She was born brave and insane. Her other three traits, savvy sculptor, loves the cold, and cat person, were randomized. Precious Joy likes custom music, stir-fry, and the color blue. She has black hair and striking blue eyes.

Precious Joy Forsythe: In Her Own Words

My name is Precious Joy Forsythe. I was born to Grady and Teri Forsythe in Glenvale County and am the first-born heir of the 10th generation of the Forsythe family. I am the namesake of Precious Forsythe, the founder of our family legacy, and my seventh-great-grandmother. When I was a toddler, my parents were murdered. I was the only known witness, so the case quickly grew cold and was never solved.

I was sent to live at the Glenvale County Orphanage and had few fond memories of my time there. The orphanage was a sterile and cold environment, lacking in anything other than meeting my basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter.

I struggled with my studies, and the orphanage staff labeled me a problem child. They often found me talking to myself. I had been seen babbling and occasionally catching and eating insects. I don’t know why I did these things. I would have sudden outbursts of emotion that I needed to let out. Eating insects was gross, but if I did catch one, I would pop it into my mouth. The other children either ignored me or made fun of me. Throughout the years, I had many sessions with a counselor who wrote “insane” in her notes but did nothing to help me.

When I was old enough, the orphanage helped me pack my few belongings in a backpack, gave me the usual stipend of §10,000, and sent me on my way. I still had a year of high school left, but they didn’t care. Since Glenvale County held nothing but bad memories for me, I took the next bus leaving the station. The first destination was Alryne Valley, and the town’s name intrigued me.

So, I exited the bus, and here I am in Alryne Valley in Wimborne County. I did my best to settle in with the Simoleons I had. I look forward to telling you my story. I can’t wait to see how my life unfolds.
